BRIAN CUA
Brian Cua is a Filipino DJ, Remixer and Music Producer based in Manila, Philippines.
He is a two-time Awit Awardee for Best World Recording in 2007 and Best Dance Recording in 2018 . He was nominated for another Awit Award in the Best Remixed Recording category in 2023, for his remix of Morissette’s viral hit ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw’.
Coming from Manila’s music advertising scene, Brian’s mastery of music production eventually translated into a DJ career that started in 2008 at Manila’s legendary underground gay club, BED Manila. Currently, he is one of the resident DJs of The Palace group of clubs and bars (Xylo, ClubHouse) He also does guest appearances at the top clubs and bars all around Manila (BSK, Dr. Wine BGC, Salaryman, EESOME, Loft, Distillery, Reserve BGC, Coconut Club, Nectar and O Bar).
Backed by years of experience as a music producer, his brilliant mixture of pop anthems, using his own big room remixes, he never fails to deliver a unique, rousing & crowd-pleasing set, whether in superclubs or outdoor festivals.
In 2011, his bootleg remixes have been prominently featured in dirrtyremixes.com. His popularity in the bootleg remix scene resulted in being included in bootleg vinyls. His bootleg remixes for Kylie Minogue, JLO, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have been printed into vinyls and can be found on Discogs.com. Eventually the record labels took notice and started to hire him for official remixes. He has now done official remixes (as Dirty Pop with DJ Drew G) for Madonna (Living For Love, Ghost Town), Beyonce (7/11, Pretty Hurts, Love On Top), U2, Paris Hilton, Martha Wash, Deborah Cox, Cher, among others. Brian’s official remix for Madonna “GhostTown” (with Dirty Pop) is now featured in “Finally Enough Love”, a 50-track remix album released by Warner Records on August 19, 2022.
He is also a frequent remix collaborator with top international Djs like Grammy Nominee Tony Moran (Live You All Over, Save A Prayer, You Already Know, Say Yes, Take It All The Way), Guy Scheiman (Superluminal, Let Go, True Meaning Of Love, Easy Lover), Dj Big Kid (When Love Takes Over, Every Breath You Take, Did You Have To Let Me Go, Afterhour), Las Bibas DeVizcaya (Sky High), and George Spiliopoulos’ dance label Queen House Music.
